Anker SOLIX C1000 vs Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus

Two 1 kWh-class units bought for the same jobs: Anker's SOLIX C1000 against Jackery's Explorer 1000 Plus. The C1000 is the cheaper energy, 9% less per watt-hour at the makers' prices, is 3.6 lb lighter and refills from the wall in 58 minutes against 1 hour 42 minutes. The Explorer 1000 Plus holds 208 Wh more, gives 200 W more continuous output and takes 800 W of solar against 600 W: buy it for that, and the C1000 for the money.

Cycle counts are highlighted only when both makers rate them to the same remaining capacity. A full recharge is not ranked against a charge to 80%. Missing figures never count as an advantage. These are manufacturer ratings; matching endpoints do not prove identical test conditions.

Rated cycles: C1000, 3,000 to 80%; Explorer 1000 Plus, 4,000 to 70%.

Estimated AC energy = rated Wh × 0.85. Runtime = estimated AC energy ÷ load W, with no reserve. Capacity and weight differences use the displayed figures; price per Wh uses each model's own price and the day it was checked. The device draws are in the watt-hour calculator.

Will it run your gear?

Runtime by device

Hours = capacity × 0.85 ÷ device watts, with the draws from the device table; "Start" says whether the output and surge ratings cover the startup figure we use for each device (the refrigerator, 1,300 W startup allowance, from a larger 27 cu ft Whirlpool's tech sheet), so a "yes" there means likely, not certain, to start yours.

Buy the C1000 if…

  • you want the most stored energy per dollar ($0.45 against $0.49 per Wh)
  • the $149.01 difference matters more than the specs
  • you carry it more than you run it (28.4 lb against 32 lb)
  • you may want to add a battery later
  • it will sit between the wall and a refrigerator or router (maker-stated 20 ms switchover; the other publishes none)
Top and front, to scale: 14.8 × 8.07 × 10.5 in. Ruler: 12 in.

Buy the Explorer 1000 Plus if…

  • you need more continuous output (2,000 W continuous and 4,000 W surge, against 1,800 W and 2,400 W)
  • you need a higher solar input ceiling (800 W against 600 W); actual recharge depends on the panels
  • you want the extra capacity (1,264 Wh against 1,056 Wh)
Top and front, to scale: 14 × 10.24 × 11.14 in. Ruler: 12 in.

Questions buyers ask

Which is better for power outages, the C1000 or the Explorer 1000 Plus?

Anker SOLIX C1000 states a 20 ms switchover, so it can sit between the wall and a fridge or router and take over when the power cuts, once the device is in an outlet the manual gives the backup to and any AC timeout is off (for a CPAP or a computer, check that device rides through the switch); Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus publishes no switchover figure. Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus holds more (1,264 against 1,056). Check your appliance's startup watts against the surge figures in the table.

Which is cheaper per watt-hour?

C1000 at $0.45 per Wh against $0.49. This compares purchase price with rated capacity, not lifetime delivered energy.

Can either run a window air conditioner?

Only if the air conditioner's running watts stay under the AC output (1,800 W on the C1000, 2,000 W on the Explorer 1000 Plus) and its start fits the surge figures in the table: read both on the air conditioner's label or in its manual, and test it before you rely on it. For the hours, multiply the rated Wh by 0.85 for inverter losses and divide by the running watts. A unit whose label says 500 W, for example, would run about 1.8 hours on the C1000 and about 2.1 hours on the Explorer 1000 Plus on a full charge, if its compressor ran without a break.
