Jackery Explorer 1500 Ultra vs Jackery Explorer 1500 v2
Jackery's two 1,536 Wh Explorers, the 1500 Ultra and the 1500 v2: the same capacity in two different bodies. The Explorer 1500 v2 is the cheaper energy, 29% less per watt-hour at the makers' prices, gives 200 W more continuous output and is 6.6 lb lighter. The Explorer 1500 Ultra takes 800 W of solar against 400 W: buy it for that, and the Explorer 1500 v2 for the money.

Cycle counts are highlighted only when both makers rate them to the same remaining capacity. A full recharge is not ranked against a charge to 80%. Missing figures never count as an advantage. These are manufacturer ratings; matching endpoints do not prove identical test conditions.
Rated cycles: Explorer 1500 Ultra, 4,000 to 70%; Explorer 1500 v2, 6,000 to 70%.

Estimated AC energy = rated Wh × 0.85. Runtime = estimated AC energy ÷ load W, with no reserve. Capacity and weight differences use the displayed figures; price per Wh uses each model's own price and the day it was checked. The device draws are in the watt-hour calculator.
- Capacity: Explorer 1500 v2 minus Explorer 1500 Ultra = 0 Wh (0% of the Explorer 1500 Ultra figure).
- Carry weight: Explorer 1500 v2 minus Explorer 1500 Ultra = -6.6 lb (-17.1% of the Explorer 1500 Ultra figure).
- Price per Wh: Explorer 1500 v2 minus Explorer 1500 Ultra = -0.23 USD/Wh (-29.2% of the Explorer 1500 Ultra figure).

Runtime by device
Hours = capacity × 0.85 ÷ device watts, with the draws from the device table; "Start" says whether the output and surge ratings cover the startup figure we use for each device (the refrigerator, 1,300 W startup allowance, from a larger 27 cu ft Whirlpool's tech sheet), so a "yes" there means likely, not certain, to start yours.

Buy the Explorer 1500 Ultra if…
- you need a higher solar input ceiling (800 W against 400 W); actual recharge depends on the panels
Buy the Explorer 1500 v2 if…
- you want the most stored energy per dollar ($0.55 against $0.78 per Wh)
- the $350 difference matters more than the specs
- you carry it more than you run it (32 lb against 38.6 lb)
- you need more continuous output (2,000 W continuous and 4,000 W surge, against 1,800 W and 3,600 W)
- it will sit between the wall and a refrigerator or router (maker-stated 10 ms switchover; 20 ms for the other)
- you want the higher stated cycle count at the same 70% remaining capacity (6,000 against 4,000); test conditions can still differ

Questions buyers ask
Which is better for power outages, the Explorer 1500 Ultra or the Explorer 1500 v2?
Jackery Explorer 1500 Ultra states a 20 ms switchover, so it can sit between the wall and a fridge or router and take over when the power cuts, once the device is in an outlet the manual gives the backup to and any AC timeout is off (for a CPAP or a computer, check that device rides through the switch); Jackery Explorer 1500 v2 states 10 ms. Capacity: 1,536 Wh each. Check your appliance's startup watts against the surge figures in the table.
Which is cheaper per watt-hour?
Explorer 1500 v2 at $0.55 per Wh against $0.78. This compares purchase price with rated capacity, not lifetime delivered energy.
Can either run a window air conditioner?
Only if the air conditioner's running watts stay under the AC output (1,800 W on the Explorer 1500 Ultra, 2,000 W on the Explorer 1500 v2) and its start fits the surge figures in the table: read both on the air conditioner's label or in its manual, and test it before you rely on it. For the hours, multiply the rated Wh by 0.85 for inverter losses and divide by the running watts. A unit whose label says 500 W, for example, would run about 2.6 hours on the Explorer 1500 Ultra and about 2.6 hours on the Explorer 1500 v2 on a full charge, if its compressor ran without a break.
