Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus vs Jackery Explorer 1000 v2

Two of Jackery's 1000 family on sale side by side: the Explorer 1000 Plus, with more battery and output, against the Explorer 1000 v2, about 8 lb lighter. The Explorer 1000 Plus is the cheaper energy, 6% less per watt-hour at the makers' prices, holds 194 Wh more and gives 500 W more continuous output. The Explorer 1000 v2 is 8.2 lb lighter: buy it for that, and the Explorer 1000 Plus for the money.

Cycle counts are highlighted only when both makers rate them to the same remaining capacity. A full recharge is not ranked against a charge to 80%. Missing figures never count as an advantage. These are manufacturer ratings; matching endpoints do not prove identical test conditions.

Rated cycles: Explorer 1000 Plus, 4,000 to 70%; Explorer 1000 v2, 4,000 to 70%.

Estimated AC energy = rated Wh × 0.85. Runtime = estimated AC energy ÷ load W, with no reserve. Capacity and weight differences use the displayed figures; price per Wh uses each model's own price and the day it was checked. The device draws are in the watt-hour calculator.

Will it run your gear?

Runtime by device

Hours = capacity × 0.85 ÷ device watts, with the draws from the device table; "Start" says whether the output and surge ratings cover the startup figure we use for each device (the refrigerator, 1,300 W startup allowance, from a larger 27 cu ft Whirlpool's tech sheet), so a "yes" there means likely, not certain, to start yours.

Buy the Explorer 1000 Plus if…

  • you want the most stored energy per dollar ($0.49 against $0.52 per Wh)
  • you need more continuous output (2,000 W continuous and 4,000 W surge, against 1,500 W and 3,000 W)
  • you need a higher solar input ceiling (800 W against 400 W); actual recharge depends on the panels
  • you want the extra capacity (1,264 Wh against 1,070 Wh)

Buy the Explorer 1000 v2 if…

  • the $60 difference matters more than the specs
  • you carry it more than you run it (23.8 lb against 32 lb)

Questions buyers ask

Which is better for power outages, the Explorer 1000 Plus or the Explorer 1000 v2?

Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus holds more (1,264 against 1,070). Check your appliance's startup watts against the surge figures in the table.

Which is cheaper per watt-hour?

Explorer 1000 Plus at $0.49 per Wh against $0.52. This compares purchase price with rated capacity, not lifetime delivered energy.

Can either run a window air conditioner?

Only if the air conditioner's running watts stay under the AC output (2,000 W on the Explorer 1000 Plus, 1,500 W on the Explorer 1000 v2) and its start fits the surge figures in the table: read both on the air conditioner's label or in its manual, and test it before you rely on it. For the hours, multiply the rated Wh by 0.85 for inverter losses and divide by the running watts. A unit whose label says 500 W, for example, would run about 2.1 hours on the Explorer 1000 Plus and about 1.8 hours on the Explorer 1000 v2 on a full charge, if its compressor ran without a break.
